Original 24 x 36 "FLOWZONE"

$10,000.00

This is currently the only opportunity that exists for you to own a painting of 100’ Ozone Falls that was made by someone who rode a kayak off of it. As a young kayaker, I first visited the falls circa 2014 on a road trip from Missouri to various boating destinations in he SE. At the time, it completely blew my mind knowing that somebody had ridden a kayak off of it before— it was a sheer 100’ drop into a landing-zone seemingly the size of a bucket. As years moved on, I frequently visited the sight as it was a nice roadside attraction to stretch legs when traversing I-40. My passion and dream of being a pro-kayaker grew between each visit, and eventually I envisioned a descent of my own. On February 7, 2020, a perfect rainstorm brought the falls to high flow and my friend Jim J. rallied a group of about 10 experienced swift-water rescue personnel to meet me there. I laced it. We cheered. Then Noah W. ran it with similar success. I’ve never felt such a high, but it came with a lot of self reflection. On that day, I learned something about myself. I learned something about people. We are capable of doing whatever we put our minds to. If you dream it enough, and want it badly enough, you’ll eventually take yourself to the end of your goal. That thought is both extremely exciting and extremely terrifying to me. It’s both a reward and a punishment. For this reason, I’ve decided to focus on goals with less physical risk… like painting.
